Holiday Spirit

The holidays are upon us. With that comes celebrating. If you are having family and friends in for festivities, have a signature holiday cocktail to commemerate the occassion.

Why not make it fun and seasonal with some holiday fruits and flavors? Cranberry, juniper, rosemary and orange are some of the festive flavors I think of. Add in some gin and you've got yourself some yuletide cheer.

This year's cocktail is called the Holiday Gin-spritz; it's tangy, fruity, zippy.

Holiday Gin-Spritz
1 orange
1/4 C cranberries, plus extra for garnish
1 Tbsp honey (more to taste)
2 jiggers gin
Orange flavored sparkling water/seltzer, like La Croix
Juniper berries
Rosemary sprigs

Muddle or process juice of 1/2 orange, cranberies, honey, juniper berries, and a few rosemary leaves until fairly smooth. Add gin and shake. Strain into two glasses over ice. Top with seltzer. Garnish with orange slices, cranberries and rosemary sprig.  Enjoy!
